Sunday musings

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

I remember when the message boards used to be interesting.
I used to spend hors reading almost every post and answering a lot. Now, I can cruise through several boards in less than 15 minutes and I am lucky to find more than 3 posts I want to look at let alone answer. Maybe that’s a good thing as I really don’t have hours to spend doing that anymore.

Is National Scrapbook Day just about making people spend more money?
I see some sites having things to do during NSD. There is a list of items to have or purchase in order to particiapte. Some of the lists are really long! What about using what you have?

I don’t need alcohol or moon phases to have really weird dreams.
It went from seinng Coling Firth avoid having to hug fat people to meeting Lady Raptastic (who in my dream was a southern white women with a touch of a mustache and going to law school) to seeing Richard Bluestein work at a gas station and eat frogs. Yep, all one dream. Oh and the frogs that he didn’t like when into a kind of display frame filled with greenish water/gel.

Finally!
I have been searching for something to do with all my shoes. (OK really birkenstocks which is what I wear 99% of the time but I have MANY pairs) I can’t use my closet as Andy sees it as a personal fort so it is mainly off season storage and locked. Currently, my many shoes are all over the bathroom floor and occassionally I trip over them. Andy every storage “solution” I found was to small or cheap looking or meant for sleek pumps of smaller size than my gargantuan foot. I ended up ordering an expensive shelving tower from exposures. I got the tall tower. The short, wider one would have worked better for my shoes but it was too wide for the space.

OK 8:20. Time to make the waffles & sausage.

We went to the Zoo. It’s wasn’t a good time.

First off, I got to the school on time but couldn’t find a parking spot. Wasted 5 minutes. Next, Ryan didn’t like the group we were assigned. He wanted his friends. So we sort of a combined group but that didn’t make him very happy. We had to rush through our lunch when we got to the zoo at 11 am. Then we could go through the zoo but we had to be back for the buses at 12:20. WTF? Even before the exapnsion, that would have been cutting it close. And of course Ryan had to be difficult at every turn. He wanted to follow the map and hit every spot. He didn’t want to linger and see the animals. Seeing the signs which corresponded to spots on the map were enough. But with 5 extra boys and 2 moms, we had to keep calling him back. When we had about 35 minutes left, I suggested the Woolshed which is actually a play area. The boys were happy but they tired quickly in the heat. We got water and started to make our way back to the front and the gift shop.

At this point Ryan got very upset. He still had places he wanted to go. But there just wasn’t enough time. He didn’t want to go to the Gift Shop but I didn’t think it was fair to left the other mom taken 5 boys by herself. Good thing we went, the Gift Shop was a zoo in itself. It was packed and there was already a long line. Ryan and I waited outside. It was warm but there was a breeze. They didn’t get done until 12:30. They said the cashiers were REALLY SLOW. Just what you need with a dozen school field trips on the same day. And you should have seen what kids came out of there with! I don’t ever remember getting stuff like on school field trips.

At least Andy was VERY HAPPY to see us when we went to pick him up early.

Going to the Zoo today, I’m going to the Zoo!

Ryan’s class has a field trip. In the past, he did not want me to come to his field trips. But now he knows that if I don’t go, no one takes photos and no one does a layout.

It may rain. Oh joy.

How long can you send a invoice and expect to get paid?

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

I just got an invoice from a company I do business with. The due date is 6/19/2006. Um…I don’t even know what this is for! And as far as I know, all of my orders have been prepaid with credit card.

Oh I hate calling.

Ahhh…relief

1. Can I get any lazier? I went to to the dishes last night, which means loading the dishwasher and turning it on. Turns out that I never emptied it from the night before. Well, I just went right ahead and added the dirty dishes to the clean ones. Good thing we don’t use too many dishes during the week.

2. Site is back up and almost running. I have to reload some products then will open it up tomorrow. They couldn’t get back to April 22 so I lost a week. I wonder how many will reorder and how many ask for refunds.

3. The pressure got to be too much for Andy. He doubled over in pain on Monday. He was at school and they were able to sit with him while he sat on the toilet. It took 45 minutes for something to move. It wasn’t much. Since then, we have had messes in the pants. Great. Last night I downloaded Cars & Toys Story for the iPod so he can watch while sitting. Today I went in after 25 minutes. He was still on the toilet but had pooped! Yeah! Let’s hope we can keep it up. let’s hope that Ryan will want to poop on the potty and not in his pants.
