I don’t believe it! The water is pouring down the sidewalk AGAIN! Mike said he fixed it himself but… I just called. I should the maintenance on my speed dial.

So one of the “convenience” foods I like are the cuban sandwiches from Publix. They are made fresh daily so aren’t technically convenience food, but easy to grab and go. But trying to think more economically, I decided to make my own. And actually the only thing I really love about the sandwiches are the bread. It’s cuban bread. Similar to french but not as light and fluffy inside. What is nice is that it doesn’t get soggy like other breads if you make a sandwich the day before. I got a sub from Target deli which was soggy when I ate the first half and practially mush when I ate the second half the next day. blech. So back to Publix. They sell cuban bread, made fresh each day. I grab a loaf, $1.29. I can make 4-5 sandwiches. Then I got get some insides. Cubans use tavern ham and pork. I opted for black forest ham and turkey breast. Of course I asked for the best varieties. 1.25 lbs=$13 ouch. And some swiss too, add another $4. Cubans also sport pickles but I usually pick them off (cucumbers & pickles give me indigestion, ever since I was pregnant with Andy). So now my cost is $19 for about 4 sandwiches. The pre-made sandwiches are $4.69 each. So much for saving money. And I wonder how fresh the bread will be on day 4.

Decided to finally wash the purse that has an ink stain in the bottom. I pulled out all the receipts and junk. I found MONEY! $230! Money I took out for some reason and forgot about. I LOVE that!!

Yesterdday I had to have the A/C guy out. The leak is worse and actually shut off the night before. So I guess I know where half of that money goes. The other half was “hidden” away for a desperate day.

Jenna is back. She is helping out doing the mundane tasks I can’t bring myself to do. She talks too much but she is cheap.

The huge peach I just bit into is not quite ripe. Drats.

Second Monday with no post. I hate asking for it but what the hell! She hyped about it on several message boards and blogs and then doesn’t even follow through. OK, last week she had her wallet stolen. But she is a New Yorker, you would think this isn’t unexpected. And she has this other class going on right now.

Oh well, it was free and you get what you pay for.

Seems that everytime I turn around, the boys are in. I guess I should work on their rooms so they leave mine alone.
