Pantone named Blue Iris Color of the Year for 2008. Was this a contest that any color could enter? Did they hold a pageant? What about the talent portion? And the swim suit portion?

What happens if Miss Blue Iris cannot fulfill her duties? Is there a runner up?

This all reminds me of the Miss America contest. I had just started college in 1983 and made a friend with Greg. He said he was going to watch the contest. He said he liked it because no black women ever won. Yes, that racist comment surprised but I said nothing, Greg grew up in very white Elgin, Illinois. What is really funny is that Vanessa Williams won that year. I wish I could have seen Greg’s face when she was announced.
