I think that helped me get over my fear of them. Now when a storm comes through I love to watch them. I do still ignore the television and weather reports. Mainly because I don't watch much REAL television. I still get annoyed with my Step Mom who INSISTS on running through the house shouting that their is a report of a tornado. We just had some yesterday...our neighbors were having an outdoor graduation party with a tent and the storm popped up. It actually lifted the tent up two feet in the air and dropped it back down again...very exciting. Big grey storm clouds, thunderboomers and rain...it was great...and over quickly...two more storms came through during the party...we found out later that an art show in Oak Park had a lot of damage from the storms. They're closing the play here in Chicago in January...I'm crushed...but maybe...once the play closes everywhere (In another couple of years)...they'll make the Wicked movie that they were talking about...then we can watch it at home every day!
